can you specify where supply comes from?

Can you somehow control which region provides supply for a given activity?

The way the computer selects where supply comes from is given on pg 90, but no mention of how a player could control it.

I think you can fake it out by moving the supply you want to conserve away, then doing the supply-consuming activity, then undoing the first supply move. But it would be nice if there were a more direct way.

To choose where supply comes from, select the unit you want to move, then click on the "little three barrels" in the popup movement bar. (this is the one that has the green arrow, the blue arrow, etc..)

Once you select the three barrels, it will ask you where from (this will be in white next to your cursor).

Then, select an adjacent area to supply from (or the one you are in).

Voila! Supply taken from that area.

What Mike said. A follow-up question: if you choose Auto-Move Supply OFF, are you required to follow this procedure for everything you do?

No, the unit will supply itself if there is any supply in it's own region, in adjacent regions, or on a transport in an adjacent sea zone. Of course you have to move it there, but it's easy to move a large amount of supply to a central region and have all the adjacent regions sponge off that.

The main reason for selecting a specific supply source is when transport capacity is limited. Manual supply will allow you to use supply from an adjacent rear-area region, allowing you to move frontline supplies along with your advancing forces.
