Does the AI give Lend Lease ?

I've just started a solo game as Soviet, letting the WA to the computer, to hone my patriotic defense skills [;)]
I was expecting to get a number of supplies through Lend lease, as the WA performs very well in W Europe (All N Africa to Allies by Summer'42, Sicily invaded in Fall). WA is sitting on a pile of supply, there's a shipping lane to Murmansk, I bear the brunt of German attacks, I'm broke as hell supply-wise, yet nothing comes ! [:(]
Is that standard AI behavior ? Do the AI only give supplies to a Soviet AI ? Did I miss stg ?
Anyway, Soviets without Lend Lease have a quite difficult time (at Challenging level). [X(]

I'm not sure if there are any prerequisites, like you having a certain supply level, but when I played the USSR I was getting 40-50 supplies per turn from the WA AI.

In my last game as Russia, the AI sent me 40 supplies once and 5 (either through Archangel or Persia) a few other times. I was eager to get more than that but they didn't seem to see it as being as high a priority as I did. [;)]

I just finished a game as Russia and found similar results. The WA gave me supplies nearly every turn. It might be nice to include an option where the SU player can ask for supplies in his turn and the WA player gives based on the request and his current supply level. Although, I'm not sure how big of an AI demand that would be.

I had the same question when I first started playing. I found that it does indeed give Lend Lease. It does a much better job of doing so with the Transport help and some supply help, though.
