That Old Black Magic!

Post by z1812 »

Hi All,

I know lots of people like the idea of the cards that can be played. It is a bit too much like witchcraft for me. Why not make that a selectable feature so those who would rather a more traditional battle can deselect it. At the moment I just don't use them. However turning cards off would be a great option particularly for TCP play.

In single player, if selectable for each side, then an advantage could be given to the AI if a player wished.

Regards John

I can assure you that our cards are not magical, they are entirely digital! [;)]

They are just a handy way to represent generalship bonuses, you need to be able to show a distinguishable icon and a name, so the card shape works well - I suppose we could have shaped them like shields or flags, but the effect is the same game mechanic-wise.

As far as I know, there are no plans to turn the card system off, though that's something to consider for future head to head play enhancements. Honestly, I was hoping to add more cards in and allow pre-purchase of cards before matches, etc. In any case, your suggestion has been heard.

Just FYI.. cards are not available at all in TCP multiplayer. Just there for the solo play. So, you get to go cardless in multiplayer.
