My "shooting from the hip" guess:

A 3 inch High-Angle gun...

Hmm. Well, there is a picture of a Japanese BB on the plague to the right of the gun, so I'm gonna say that this gun was one found on BB's.

According to this site: http://www.combinedfleet.com/bb.htm, I have a couple choices.

A dual purpose 5"/40, or a casemate 6"/50.

I'll go with the casemate gun this time. I think a dual purpose gun would still have more of it's mount/pedastal with it, here in this museum picture. A casemate gun would not.
