Any way to tell when your in negatives

Post by randell765 »

On a few of my games I have noticed that the computer will let me build quite a few units, I make very few attacks next turn, have a ton of supplies, and the next thing I know, I am negative -14 in the population or is it resources? In the next patch are you going to at least give a player a warning if he/she exceeds o?

Don't get me wrong, if I put units in que and have battles and have my factories repairing with units in ques, I understand that I am overloaded. Point is taken. But I don't understand why the computer lets me overbuild without any warning that I am going over.(even if I had no battles the next turn, I am still in the negatives), forces a lot of wasted production. Any way to fix or see where I am at to prevent this?

On your current turn you should try to plan what will be built on your next turn according to your projected population pool for next turn. If at the end of your production phase your population reads something like 13/1 (U started phase with 13 pop and you have one left to allocate, no unit can be built with 1pop) then you know next turn you will have 14pop meaning you will be able to man 7 units next turn for that Country.

So look at the second box in production screen for that country, if there are more than 7 units you are going to be in -pop next turn. Do not forget to include any units in the first box that you have put on hold. And of course any unforseen casualties going back into production will effect this, but at least they do add 1pop, then require 2 when produced.

Hope that helps

Yes. Before you end your turn you need to make sure you do not have any negative values under production and population boxes. Put units on hold ( right-click ) to free up production and population ( if they are about to be produced ). Remember, production occurs at the end of your turn. You have your whole production turn to clean things up the best you can.

Of course, by the time your next turn comes around things can be all out of whack again, especially if you had lots of damaged units return to the queue. Rinse, lather, repeat.

Note: In the early game as the WA you will always be backed up in the queue in England/Scotland. There is just not enough population to produce everything that winds up there. You need to pick and choose based on your current needs.
