Is this a board game?

Post by JudgeDredd »

I've saw some people asking...I don't get it.

Do they mean it's a board game as in "it WAS a board game that is now being transferred to pc"?

VASSAL is a program that allows you to play many different board games on the Internet. You can play an opponent live or PBEM.

Link is here VASSAL

Its a great way to play if you cannot find opponents to play face to face. I play a lot of Civil War games on VASSAL, and am currently looking for someone to show me the ropes on Lock N Load Forgotten Heros.

Somebody who might remember better might correct me, maybe not.

When the Vietnam Lock N' Load came out a bit ago there was a computer program (included in the boardgame) that allowed for play with others, no AI or rule tracking. Perhaps it was just a VASSAL module.

I might be full of it too.

That's right. Forgotten Heroes ships with VLnL. Virtual Lock 'n Load. It is the complete VASSAL game engine, completely tailored to LnL. No downloading necessary. Keep in mind that VASSAL is not some text based program, where you type in what you are doing, etc. It is a complete graphical representation. You see the boards, see the counters moving, the tanks clanking, their cannon's booming, the screaming of dying heroes... okay, I got a little carried away at the end.
