Tojo's in 1941

Post by IS2m »

Hello all.

In the campaign game (Scen 15 or 16), the Japanese begin with 9 Tojo II's in a group near Hong Kong. What gives? The Tojo wasn't available until late 42.

Thanks

It was an experimental unit.

Interestingly, one of my Tojo Pilots is still in the top 3, 6 months into my PBEM....

It should be China, unless he spent the PPs to change HQ.

Problem is that there are no replacements available for a long time. I'm down to six, just with Op losses.

First week of the war, following a sweep a Tojo pilot was my first ace. Day after next, he was also my first KIA ace, op loss. Down to 7, sticking close to home.

China is right, as Mike Solli said. Have to distract the AVG away tho -- Tojo's not up to them. But definitely useful against Chinese fighter groups.

True (per DJAndrews/irrelevant) that you incur losses, just don't lose 'em all (retreat them to safe base when numbers get low) and they can be a good support factor for you for a while.
