newbie question for supply

Post by nukkxx5058 »

Hi,

I try to play WITHOUT advanced supply rule.
I know how to check my available stock of supplyin the units screen but what I don't know is the required level of supply for my army. Where can I check this ? (and as a result decide how much supply I should produce).
Thx

Your required level of supply depends on whether you are in an offensive or defensive posture. If you plan to attack, you need one supply for every unit attacking. If you just plan to defend, then you only need one supply for each *province* defending.

The other major factor is whether you have a lot of fleets to push around. If you do, then you need a large amount of supply, especially if you move fleets more than one province per turn. I think this is true on both Simple and Advanced Supply.

Thanks, I understand now. But is there any screen which sumarizes the supply status of all units ? (ie. if they ran out of supply or what autonomy they have)

Well, once you are done movement & combat, there's only 2 reasons more supply would be needed.
#1 if they're attacked by an enemy. If you've moved (regular, not strategic) or attacked in your turn, they'll still be in supply for defense. Otherwise each AREA (not unit) will need 1 supply to defend.
#2 if they're in an occupied Province, and that Province has a Population of 1 or more, any units there will need 1 supply (per Province, not per unit) to subdue the Partisans.
Nope there is no screen which lists your units or shows who's in/out of supply.

Do you have any advise to planify production of supply units ? To avoid shortage or overproduction ?

Yes, always produce more than you think you will need. [:D]
