Sound issue

I noticed that when I go to the production or especially research screens that the mouse"sticks" and won't move for several seconds. This persists until I return to main map. It finally hit me that this was caused by the music or sound...as I could hear a real brief clip of sound everytime the problem occured. Is there a way to fix, or disable music? (not turn down the music volume, but all out disable..)

Have you checked to see if your sound drivers are up to date? If not, download the latest sound drivers and see if that helps. If problems persist, please post a DxDiag file for us. Thanks.
