Welcome. One of the best places to learn wargaming (& meet some great folks) is the Steel Panthers World at war forum. Read back through the old threads, Talk with the vetrans, Talk with the other new players.

If you have a problem with the game's programming, talk to Paul Vebber, Warhorse, Wild Bill & others... (after looking at the older threads & reading the manual).

Strategy problems? Generally a balanced combined arms force will see you through. If an unbalanced force (ie: all tank) is needed, a hint is usually given in the scenario text. Recon, Recon, Recon. Move slow, find the enemy. Use the terrain (hills, trees) or fire smoke with artillery to mask your manouevers. Guard your rear. Load light troop units on your armour when you fear infantry assaults, they'll take the first hit rather than the armour. Watch for smoke from enemy on-board artillery & either manouever troops (carefully) or use your artillery to take it out. Most importantly, Have fun, it's a game.
