Its turn based.

It can take half an hour to play a turn.

Your oppnent doesn't want to be waiting around while you play your turn.

witp is wego, and I play board wargames and sometime i attend hours the turn of my opponent.
the hotseat multiplayer mode is supported but we lose all the fog of war, that is, for me, one of the advantage of a computer game in front of a board game.

the ai it's a good opponent for 1 or 2 time, afer that it's not a real challenge
(i play the Anzio, and the husky scenario at comp+ level and at the first game i've eliminated all the german forces 5/10 turn before the end)
and in the bocage, with the axis, 3 games of 3, the uk are offsore (all forces eliminated) and the US, is safe (the conentin penisula) due the end of the scenario

human opponent, even the worst player is always better

i don't know if the serial connection is a long work but i think it upgrade the long time playability of a game[>:][>:]

I only play human opponents, I never play the AI.

You should try human opponents.
