purchase by digital download

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

purchase by digital download

Post by Forward_March »

This game is at the top of my "to grab" list. I'm curious about file size for digital download. I survive on a regular old 56K dialup. I'm imagining that the file(s) would be large and numerous. Would I be able to get digital download without being timed-out by my server?

Thanks in advance

[:-] you didn't look carefully to the board :-) There is already a thread with the same question couple of topics below on the first page :-)

The answer is 400 MB :-)))

GL with your 56k. Last time I needed to DL a large file (and before my broadband was installed) I went to a cybercoffee with my USB memory stick to save the file. It took me less that 2 hours for 400 MB. Couldn't you do the same ?

For large downloads we suggest a download client like "Stardownloader" available for free from www.stardownloader.com . It will let you resume disconnected or broken downloads. You can even pause them and resume them whenever you want.

Heh, I may just wait for the boxed version...perish the thought of downlaoding the thing then having a crash before I can back it up. Besides...I like a pretty box with some readable material.

Forward March, use the download client above. That way if it times out or you lose the connection, you can restart. Just set it up before bed and wake up and hope you finished, if not, finish while at work.

I tried to downlaod the dang thing this morning...it wouldn't start, so I went to the next link which didn't work, either. I'll have another go, I guess.

Same. A blank window popped up invariably as a result. The free download expired?

Possibly your firewalls other personal settings. The download hosted by download.com works fine.
