Why not direct download yet?

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

Why not direct download yet?

I understand exactly what going gold means (I am in the business). Why not set up the direct download immediately? Why wait till the disks are ready before allowing those of who just want the download version to do it now since it is in fact done?

From past experience, it seems it can't be done immediately. Matrix sell online via a third party, Digital River, and that always seems to take a few days to set up.
