CHS Question

Post by Kryptec »

Possibly this is noted somewhere in documentation for the CHS scenario but I've been unable to find it. Basically, I've downloaded the scenario and started playing around with it (thanks for all the work on it by the way - it's quite an accomplishment, most especially the maps). In any case I've noted a problem with transport TF's I've created in a number of ports - I cannot load anything but supplies on them. The options for loading fuel and troops are greyed out. The ports I've noted where this is a problem are Pescadores, Takao, Amamu, Palau, Saipan and Truk for the Japanese. Allied ports include among others PH, Singapore, Noumea, Naga and so on.

If anyone can help with what I might be missing here I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

This happens when the map data file you are using does not match the map itself (and the scenario). This can be verified by using the '1' key and the 'F6' key to examine the map data. I would like to know what steps you took to install the mod, as this happens fairly often and I need to improve the documentation to make it less likely to occur.

RE: CHS Question

Wish I could answer that question accurately but I've screwed around for several hours trying to get things to work so I'm not 100% sure what I did. Originally downloaded your map - just the basic, not the extended. Also downloaded CHS but a small file, I think the alpha version from some months back - not the large 23 MB file with all the art and such. I haven't had any luck downloading the large CHS file as I seem to be hitting download limits on both your and Spooky's site.

So I orginally downloaded the map and then couldn't bring it up. After much futzing around I found that I had accidentally (I think) unzipped it into the wrong directory. Once I moved it manually into the right directory it came up alright except for the issues with loading at certain bases. I'm now suspect that the issue lies with the version of the CHS file I downloaded. If I can ever get a hold of the full package that might solve things I think.

Anyway, thanks for the information. I guess I'll wait till the files are available somewhere without the download limits or whatever.
