My First Impressions, great wargame!!!

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

My First Impressions, great wargame!!!

Post by Alaric_31 »

Greetings to all and thanks for the contributors to this forum, it great help to understand and accomplish a good starting game.
Well, i think Crown of Glory is the best strategic napoleonic wargame, i'm a fanatical player of napoleonic games and turn based,
not play very often rts.
still not have a game going on but i think difficulty level and power adjust affect taxex and resource production, and think it is ok,
it's very difficult a game in maximum difficulty level and power -3 for your nation, for now, i will try a game in a low difficulty level and
with some power advantage, my only request for a patch will be, aside of bug fixing a feature of can save game in the tactical detailed battle, or in his place, a savegame function between battles resolution for the same phase.
and please let me share some of what i have got tweaking with the difficulty level and power...
Maximum Difficulty (Bonaparte) and Lowest Power (-3) give a Tax income of 297$ for france in the standard scenario
Mimimun Difficulty (Easiest) and Lowest Power (-3) give a tax income of 407$ for france in 1805
Maximum Difficulty (Bonaparte) and Maximum Power (+3) give a tax income of 959$ for france in 1805
Minimun Difficulty (Easiest) and Maximum Power (+3) give a tax income of 1289$ for france in 1805
it affect to resource productions as well, but this settings by the designers give a great variety of difficulty levels, very good thing, i think. People that go to bankrupt can try tweaking this settings for a more easy play.

with best regards,

Alaric.

Thanks for the encouraging words Alaric, and also for the income breakdown by difficulty level. In first patch I'd like to make difficulty affect some detailed combat constants as well as the economic effects it currently has.

I agree it's a great game. But not only a wargame but a real strategy game, where I can also focus on domestic issues while watching the other countries killing each other.

I did not see a thread where I could place this and did not want to start another . My question is, how long does a time period take to play out with all advisors off?
