PBEM and my yahoo webmail: problem

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

PBEM and my yahoo webmail: problem

Post by nukkxx5058 »

I am using a webmail (mail.yahoo.com) for my PBEM game and the problem is that when I receive the file for my turn, the text of the pbem file is directly paste in the body of the email !!! Who knows why and how to get a normal attachement, instead of the file's content in the message's body ? thx

yep, I know.

But finding the second file for which the link is lost in the middle of hundered of pages is difficult.

I found out the solution: I perform a "search" on the string quoted above by carniflex but I wondered whether there is a setup in yahoo mail to avoid this issue ?

You can always use a zip (or other archive) utility to contain the files. No need to compress them, just use it without compression as a storage container.. then email the zipfile.

Yes, yes, yes...zip is your friend and the only answer I've found to this problem!

well, personally, ZIP is NOT my friend. I hate to have to do one additional manipulation at each pbem turn. It's already difficult to perform a turn (no auto SMTP sending feature integrated in-game). If in addition I have to open winzip evaluation version (which sucks) and zip the file after having browsed the correct directory, this is a bit painful I think [:@]. I admitt however this is not a ajor issue. Just a small annoyance [:-].
