Stop with the Crossing Treaties Already! I said I'm not Interested!

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

Stop with the Crossing Treaties Already! I said I'm not Interested!

Post by jchastain »

Anyone else get tired of selecting Reject on crossing treaties? I feel like the prudish girl at the prom having to keep repeating "I said no and I meant no" over and over again. At a minimum, they shouldn't ask so often. Best case, I'd love to have treaty options added to Set Policy so that I could indicate what I'm willing to consider and then have it auto-reject anything that is outside of what I indicated.

I think the AI should add a sweetener - if I reject their crossing treaty this month, and they want to try again, they should offer me some colonies or to embarge my enemy, or something. Just making the same offer over and over is a bit yucky.

I am just wondering whether a nation will still keep on its offers if I skip ratifying or refusing the initial offer.

No, they will only have one crossing offer on the table at a time. The problem with this approach is you never know when a potentially interesting offer comes in because you are essentially just ignoring the message that tells you that you have treaty proposals to review.

True, I habitually ignored such overtures.
