The Pinging!!! How to stop it?

When I am running the game there is this pining in the background, like a destroyer doing a sonar hunt. How do I stop the dang game from pinging!!! Yickes is it annoying!

Hi Cliff,
I believe the setting you are looking for on the option screen is the "Incidental Sound" - set it to 0 and your woes will be over :)
