where have the Vets gone?

SPWaW is a tactical squad-level World War II game on single platoon or up to an entire battalion through Europe and the Pacific (1939 to 1945).

Post by Huffy »

I have been looking at the forum for a couple weeks now....and I see new names...all over...it is not a bad thing..it is a good....but the vet's post's...they have been gone(the one's who have been around SPWAW for a while). Are you here...just watching..or have they gone?...
Just wondering..

You cant have missed the fact also, that Matrix has also had an slow increase in forum sections as well as an increased dedication to more and more involvement with acquiring connections with other software companies.

If those "vets" are part of Matrix staff, then I guess they have a lot to do lately is my assumption.
I LIKE that my life bothers them,
Why should I be the only one bothered by it eh.

Old vets never fade away, they just smell that way... from spending so many hours playing the game that they forget to shower.

My suspicion is that folks are tapering off their play, due to the impending release of v7.xx in a couple weeks, and thereby reducing their time spent on the forums. I've noticed this before regarding other version releases.
Also, posters who are military "vets" (quite a few, worldwide)are no doubt preoccupied with other, pressing, issues right now...

Hey, Huffy, I've been checking in every day, but not posting so much lately. Ever since RGW came out, I've been busy playing that & posting over at Wargamer. I'm glad, though, that a another wave of the "new breed" has been taking up the slack for us older guys. BTW, the Matrix Convention isn't dead--it's just on hold for the moment. A definite yea or nay won't be necessary till the end of the year, so you guys keep it in mind if you still want to do it.

Well folks,

I think many of them are quite busy with the project of the long WWII campaing that are been developed by many designers, coordinated by A_B.
Soon I think they will return with good news

I’m not sure who all the vets are, but everyone is a tad bit busy now days for sure? I still try to browse the forum, but lately I’ve not been too encouraged to write. I think we should blame the slow down on WB for even thinking that he can retire! I’m also waiting for 7.x. In fact when I try to play MC1 I just get too frustrated with the known issues, so it seems that lately my only spare time is now spent massaging MGD files. Lets all crawl out of our foxholes and get back to business as usual as it was before 9/11.

In the event something tragic occurs, and to ensure continuity of command, the Vets have been moved to a secure location.

I think we just got used to the heavy volume of posts that started around the time they first announced MCNA & released version five.
With all the changes/patches/upgrades there was a steady stream of questions and comments; it'll pick up again when v.7 is released. And when CL comes out...

Tankhead, Bonzo, CptJack ... having vacation ?

Without knowing what is 'Vet but surely feeling like one after one year on the forum/game I understand if someone jumps offline sometimes... but most of the older members are still playing, have a meeting engagement in the mailboxes... Some 20-30 of the guys have been doing MCs, some even 3 in the row... Soon recruits look like I do...
