Command Buttons Disappearing

Hi,
I've posted on the Tech Support board, but so far nobody's been able to help.
My problem is that after a few minutes of game play, all the command buttons on the right side of the screen just disappear. Seems to happen randomly, but so far I havent been able to play for more than 10 minutes before this happens.
Can anyone help. I really want to play this game.
My System:
P2 400 mgz
160 RAM
STB Velocity 128

I can't say why this happens but have you tried alt - tabbing the game down to the desktop then restoring it? This may cause a redraw of the buttons.

Do the buttons actually cease to exist, in that if you click where they should be nothing happens or are they there but just invisible, that is you can click on them and they respond.

Thanks for your response. Yes, the buttons actually cease to exist. Clicking anywhere where they're supposed to be doesn't do anything. Also the Hotkeys dont work anymore when this happens, so I'm really screwed. Oh yeah, the sound also stops at the same time this happens.
Any ideas?

I had the same problem some months ago, when I got MCNA and upgraded SPWaW to Ver. 5.01. In addition to the problems you mentioned, there were also some errors (black holes) on the map. I got a lot of tips from other gamers (thanks again for your efforts) and tried them all. However, the game contiuned to crash. Even after upgrading to ver.6.1. In a last desperate attempt, I formated the portion of my HD with the operating system (Win 98 SE) on it and installed Win ME. After reinstalling SPWaW the problems disappeared. Interestingly, I installed MCNA on a much older computer with Win 98SE and everything went fine.
