Where did my corps go?

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

Where did my corps go?

Post by sage »

Several times I've made corps units, only to have them dissapear. I'm not sure where, or why.

Were the casualties in siege? In quick battle? Do they automatically disapear if they're empty? Is it that units in the corps have disapeared, so the corps does too?

Thanks for ideas,

Sage

I've had Corp disappear also. Certainly a bug that I hope that is addressed in the patch.

Hello everyone...
not move empty corps into enemy territory, or in friendly zones with enemy formations, this maybe can help

with regards,

alaric.
There is no plan of battle that survives the contact with the enemy.

I think I'm attaching the unit, but then the unit is killed in a siege or quick battle, and the corps is removed. It strikes me as odd, since the corps is still in an army and hardly "exposed".

I built a new corps once in Ile de France. It stayed there - empty but attached to an army - for two turns, with no enemy units anywhere near, then just vanished. Like an old oak table...

Apart from Great Fire causing corps to vanish, you may want to check the military advisor to see if they are just "hidden" - if so you may be able to get them back by giving a unit a "join" order. (I once discovered two vanished Russian armies this way, they were hiding in Flanders at the time - perhaps they had eaten their carrier pigeons and that is why they had lost contact with HQ?[:'(])

I tried that, but they were definitely gone.

One thing I have noticed, is that if you produce a Corps in a province that you have set 'to reinforce' an existing army. The Corps will move to the specified army & then prompty vanish, never to be seen again (I lost 2 in a row this way)

Same happened to me... no matter what units I attached, no matter what I told it do do, both of my new and very expensive corps just marched off and two turns later vanished!

Be very careful with the reinforce button!
