Algeria bugged.

I am still unable to conquer Algeria (playing the British at the moment).

Took Morocco, declared on Algeria, marched in and fought, next turn I am at peace with them. Also, Algerian province does not show capitol marker on their city.

Straightening out the protectorate relationships is on the list for the second patch.

I thought this was part of the minor countries fix that went in already - oh well at least I can conquer Morocco now

The fix in the first patch gets about 80% of the problem - bascially, that subordinate minors now follow their daddy nicely. But if they ever get seperated (and there are a few different ways they can get seperated) then everything behaves wierdly. The good news is, if you can get em back into sych, things go OK. Hah!

Fixing the rest is on the list for the next patch, as Mr Z said.

As a workaround, you can anticipate the problem next time: the clue for you going in was the absence of the capital marker - that means you need to conquer their "owner", not them. Use the flags to figure out who it is.
