BisMarck Game

Report after the 1st German assault into Russia :
August 15 /05
Game Date : SU 41

As expected, the G and Japs made a combined attack on Russia.
Not expected was the furiousity of the Jap attack on Vladivostok. Despite an additional 4 R units(1 FLAK, 1ART, 2 MIL), it fell dismally. There appears to be nothing the Ruskies can do to prevent such. I dont recall even doing much damage if any to the attacking Japs.

The Japs even had sufficient air power to devastate a couple of brave inf advancing SE toward Jap occupied lands.

Rebuttal was a meagre R inf exchange for a G tank.
Now i KNOW why Stalin had a pistol in both fists...with Generals before him. He did not have a red menace to provoke him either.

Russian plans to concentrate on Japan are now in tatters. [X(]

I now know how much i should salute WOBBLY for prevailing in the previous game where-at he was the Russian.

What to say. "Disaster" comes to mind.
Having successfully moved Leningrad and Moscow factories eastward, the JAPS in a last burst of "BANZAI" destroyed 3 R factories in one angry attack. The arrival of the visiting Allied fleet into the waters of Japan while the Jap fleet was off cordoning Java might have had impact.

Such has been put to naught as the JAPS have now committed hari-kari in large numbers. The damage is heavy however. China has no resource production. Russia is down to something like 10 production points per season.

In the west, the Allies have managed to capture...then vacate West France. 3 G factories are thus dormant. I have not had good updates on this side of the German battle. My sense is that the Germans are being challenged but the 10-10 G tanks might make this somewhat difficult.

The BIG queston :
Will Germany use supply to wipe out Russia while the allies have fun in Europe...or will the Germans pull back to defend Europe. It remains the German initiative. Russia has 3 centers of forces(weak though they be). Leningrad, Caucausus(depite all resouce centers being destroyed) and Central Siberia. The forces that just completed supervising the Japanese hari-kari exercise are considered reserves. Whether they be pointed eastward or back toward Moscow is the subject of a heated debate extending beyond Russian borders.

The assault on Berlin by Russian forces seems like a far off joke...but there are dreams amongst at least some of the Russian people(Stalin perhaps being somewhat excessive...in the use of the pistols in both fists). His where-abouts are unknown so there is much uncertainty as to what is the preferred type of pistols.

Returning from a TWO week house power failure is like remembering the world exists....after the sirens sounded the arrival of nuclear war. well maybe so. I am sure the world has heard enough of Hurricane Katrina and the American reaction. Vehicle gas prices bumped a hard 20% increase to $1.25 per liter in Ottawa Canada. @ 4.5 liter / Am gallon and $1.18 can$ to am$ ....5.6 $Can per Am gallon or $4.80 american $ per american gallon. AND how much does a motorist pay for gas in the US of A. My perception is a hell of a lot less!

Enough real world politics.
Japan has now lost Kyusho. Can Hyondo be delayed?
Will Russia survive the coming onslaught of German might?
IF i did the turns correctly, Russia survived one turn of German advance. I am uncertain if or how long this might continue. The Allies will certainly be moving toward Europe soon.
Did i mention this is SU 42?

more anon.
