So is it any good?

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

Yes, I am enjoying the game very much. The above link gives all the details. BTW glad to hear you liked WITP.[;)]

To be honest I haven't played CoG enough to have a strong opinion yet. Right now it feels like a diamond in the rough. By that I mean there looks to be a great game in there once you get past the learning curve and a few bugs that need to be ironed out. But if you got past the bugs in WitP and still liked it then this should be easy! I'm not knocking WitP since I don't own it, that comment was just from reading the forums. I do own HTTR and would have to say it was more polished out of the box. Then again you could argue it was the second time around for that game, first published by Battlefront, so it should have been more polished.

You can get some opinions of CoG at Octopus Overlords too:

I was interested in this game until I saw those cheesy looking battle screens with little soldiers lined up on a football field. What is the story on that?

And, how is the AI?

thats the quick battle screen. Detailed battles are a hoot, AI is'nt too shabby and there are many difficulty settings. This is definatly a must have game for any serious wargamer.
It doesn't make any sense, Admiral. Were we better than the Japanese or just luckier?

Sigh....I was afraid of that. Right now I don't have time to play the games I have and like. I need another good game like I need a another hole in my head. I guess I'll use the lack of a printed manual to put off buying it for a bit.

It's alot of fun to play and will only get better as the devs patch it and such. I bought it even though WitP is taking up most of my game time. It's more or less satisfaction that I can play it any time I wish for now. Go ahead and buy it, another hole in head is worth two in the bush... or something like that.[;)]
