Thibaut is a fearsome opponent, with the allies but imparticular japan.
Hes reached 4-1 in May 42 in May on my pbem against him, i could give you a few tips and advice if ya want, if he plays anything like he is in my pbem.
But good luck getting his morale down, should help me out a bit, and ill try to do the same [:D]

Check out my AAR, Yellow fever, on the second page, and read the first two pages, itll give you an idea to his operning startergies.
In My Pbem Gilles hit PH for 2 turns (2 day turns), and then dissapeared back to Japan it seemed, but he then ambushed my damaged Battleships on the way home to San Fran from Pearl Harbour.
So keep an eye on that taskforce, and just to be safe i wouldnt send any convoys to or from PH for a month or so, i lost a lot of ships walking into his ambush.

I also am playing Gilles and he is a tough IJ opponent so good luck.
If he ignores Malaya early on make him pay !!!!
We are in July 42 in our game and I still hold Singapore although it will fall soon.
He uses his IJN carriers especially well so watch out for ambushes.
This is our second game and he always tries the unconventional so watch for weird strategy and pay close attention to Sigint

Many in the USA are calling for the head of Admiral Nimitz as again today the IJN attacked Pearl Harbor. Nimitz was very forceful in his responce saying " The USN fleet can be better protected inside the Harbor due to the AA defences than on the high seas with no aircover and IJN subs lurking off the PH entrance". Helater stated then if FDR wished his resignation he would be willing to give it. The President said the American people in this trying time should be united and pray to protect our servicemen.
Other wise things have been quite in the PI the battle for Naga rages with the US and PI divisions holding tough so far.

CV6 Enterprise sunk off Big Island Vice Admiral Halsey Dead[&:]
Nimitz had oredered the Lexington TF and the Enterprise TF to ambush KB off Hawaii as it was corectally assumed that the IJN air units after days of AA over PH had somewhat depleated them. However acting under his own direction after a FUBAR in communication with the Lexington TF Vice Admiral Halsay attcked alone with the Enterprise tf disobeying a direct order!!! [:@] The VB6 VS6 and VT6 squadrons did indeed get through to bomb and torpedo the KB only getting one light hit on the CV Hiryu. VF6 piolots paid dearly in paving the way. KB stuck back and the Big E took 6 torpedoes. A wounder Vice Admiral Halsey fearing a court marshall back at PH went down with the ship after the abandon ship order was given his last words are as follows " DONT WORRY BOUT ME BOYS I WILL MEET THESE YELLOW BASTARDS IN HELL AND KILL ALL OF THEM AGAIN.

PH hit for the 7th out of 8 days the place is a shambles but only 2 BB sunk the USS UTAH and the USS CALIFORNIA almost all others have 99 sys damage but they made good targets and left the CA and CL fleet not to badly shot up! Port has 35 damage AF has now 0 runway and 50 service. I know most people would have moved ships out to she and such but I want you to look at the following notice the numbers of KATES and VAlS lost in and around PH over the week even if 50% of these pilots were recused which i doubt that would be the loss of 75-80 IJN expert pilots so in the long run this may turn out to be a wash........................

"your ships are built on special rubber safety emmergency...they do not sunk
"
As you may have guess PH was hit once again and so far only 2 BB sunks will update damage at PH next post

If hes not hitting the Airfield at all, fly in some B-17 squad/s from West coast if you have any, they fly without escourt at the Carriers, one bomb hit could well sink any ship that far from home.
Or you could try sending a few Destroyers/AP/AKs fleeing out of port, he might try and chase them down thinking they are BB's.

RE: CHS 1.02 WITP 1.6 gillesthib <J> sacorsair <A>
I have 3 spuadrons of B-17s and 3 of LB30s now along witth all the B-18s and A-20s but as of yet no hits they are flying daily
