Battle for Paris

Post by Hard Sarge »

I have been doublecrossed, and Aus and Spain have been bought by Sweden to go to war with me

as I try and bring some troops home, the doublecrossers cross the border

looks like I catch a break as the Aus army from Flanders heads north, only to backtrack and head towards Paris the next month

my reinforcements end up a province away, but my troops in Paris avoid a major battle, so all is set

148,000 Aus are in the city area, 60-70,000 Spainish troops are to the east 9and unknown to me, a Swedish Army of 70,000 men is rushing to the battle

I have around 45,000 men in Paris with out a Army command, and 74,000 right next door

so I call out the garrions around Paris, if the timeing is right, this is going to be a fish hunting trip, in a barrel

the Spanish and Aus move faster then my troops do and the battle begins, with out the main French firepower

my troops are spead out, with a City between them ! form as best as I can and then call for help

man there are a lot of Aus troops comeing, they are also being funneled by the city, a forest and a nice hilltop, so there numbers can't come to grips with my little force

little by little my reinforcements begin to join in, but then it begins to rain, and night falls, just and then the Swedish troops arrive, it is a mass of confusion, as the 3 countrys try and force the passages, and run head on into my new troops, seeing the new line of guns being formed up in front of them, is too much and the call to retreat is sounded

20,000 of them die in the trap

8 Swedish Divs Surrender
15 Aus Divs Surrender
along with 5 Spainish Divs

in the side battles, another Swed and 3 more Spainish Divs give up

my trap works, but two of my provinces change hands during the run around, but they are not garrisoned, so should be back home next month

the bad news, the Pussians declared war, and one of there Diplos was able to break the Piedmount away from me, hmmm, not happy about that turn of events

Almost a Perfect trap
