File names and viewer question

Post by Bertil »

I have a couple of questions regarding the file names.

Does anyone have a list of what names (e.g. U06.bmp) correspond to? Obviously the "U" is for Uniform. Also, how do you get the helmets and unis to show up in the viewer? If I could get the viewers working properly, I could figure it out by trial and error.

I have templates and viewers from the old forum and I would like to get to experimenting on uni creation. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Bertil:

If David hasn't changed the file naming protocol, U06 would be part of the uniform template. Each piece of the uniform has a different number (I did some USFL unis back around Christmas of 2003, but got distracted by real life and never quite got back to it.)

Here's what I did. Create a 'Viewer' folder. Copy the contents of the viewer zip file to here. Create two shortcuts. I placed the shortcuts in the taskbar for easy use. One shortcut is for the helmet.exe and the other is for player.exe.

When making a uniform you need to overwrite the files in the 'viewer' folder. Click on the shortcut to view the helmet or uniform. After making the change close the helmet/uniform app and restart it again. The changes will now be seen. The apps need a 'refresh' button to make it easier. When working on helmets just update the U6.bmp.

Here are the file names:
F1.bmp = face
H1.bmp = hand
PAD.bmp = ???
S1.bmp = skin and tape on wrist
U0.bmp = player's right leg
U1.bmp = player's left leg
U2.bmp = upper jersey (shoulders)
U3.bmp = jersey (torso)
U4.bmp = player's right sleeve
U5.bmp = player's left sleeve
U6.bmp = helmet
U7.bmp = ???
U8.bmp = area between shoulder blades (back)
U10.bmp = shoes or cleats

U7 is probably used for the uniform numbers. The magenta is probably used as a transparent color. Maybe someone else knows what pad.bmp is used for.

PAD.bmp is the graphic file for the leg pads on the pants. U7 is the uniform numbers.

Been awhile since I worked with these. Does anyone know if the uniform viewer and templates are still downloadable somewhere?

No, pad.bmp is the interior helmet padding around the players head. I'm not sure it shows up properly on the viewer but that's what it is.

U7 and U9 are numbers. U9 are shoulder numbers.
