a Great Battle

LOL I just had a great battle

new game, so my troops are pretty low level yet

like 85000 Aus vs 55000 French

3 Aus Cav charges broke two of my Inf Divs, Killing Kellerman (not happy)

my Arty is blowing holes in his inf units, while his Cav is making a mess of my Inf

I end up with most of my Inf in Square, with the Aus Inf and Arty fireing into them, while one of my Cav is hassling his Cav

I got a Lancer and another Cav that hold back till the time is right

I got Garrisons moving up to form squares around my Arty to replace the broken and retreating Inf

my timing is prefect, and I take his Arty and broke his line, just as he starts to break

I lose 11000 men, they lose 25000

one Inf Div (Dang, all those Mili and it was a Inf that got nailed) ended the battle with 795 men, and is lost, along with the captured Arty

6 of his Divs are captured, with the national leader and a Army leader

I think the AI was close to winning this battle, but one of his Cav got caught between a fort and a watch tower, which it didn't attack, it was picked on by 3 different garrison troops to keep it busy and out of the main battle

if it had come to the main battle it had a chance to break another Inf unit, then I would of had to use my fresh Cav to counter it, and that is a losing battle
