The Battle of W

[Hard Sarge]

France as is normal, is at war with almost everyone, but I am not one to sit back and wait, so once, I got some support, I decide to take the battle to the Foe

they have been massing in Wattenberg, the English, who have been trying to Invade Swizerland with there Polish Armies, but beaten off with heavy losses, are now joined by the Russians, and the newly Joined Austrains (I know they have a massive Cav force)

I tried to trap them in there homeland, but they slipped out, before my Army marched in

so overall, Wattenberg is a distrackion and a holding action

the battle begins, I get some good land for battle, but a Large hill right in the wrong place

if I try and move around it, I don't like the odds, I will get caught on the move and undeployed, so decide, to defend the back side of the hill

major hassle is lack of movement, and simi poor trained troops, so the Arty Deploys in place, and the troops try to form around them

s few of the Divs are split in half, and most are set to form square before they are force to, my few Cav are set to fill the gaps in the defence, until they Inf can move in

a early wave starts the attack, the Cav in the bottom, made a bad choice, and died in place

the Cav by the hill is the key to the whole line of defence

I pull the one Cav out of the line and onto the hilltop, more to open the field of fire, but also to do some scouting, or draw some troops to it

oh my

and the Allies have called for reinforcements, this could get messy, the hill is the joker in this mess, I can't bring my firepower to bear on his whole Army, but again, what ever I can fire on, will be overwelmed, unless there timing is prefect

but the Russians and Austrains, do not have the backbone that the English do, and instead of charging my lines, break off the battle

in the end, what looked to be the making of a Grand battle turns into another chance meeting

but they do there duty, and the troops guard the capitol, are slaughtered
