Ballantine Books

Post by Tracker »

There was a thread running last June about the Ballantine Book series and the availability of these books.
Over the weekend I was looking for the USMC monographs on the pacific campaigns and ran across a used book exchange that offers many different Ballantines at what looked like reasonable prices (less than $10.00 in some cases).
The website belongs to the Advanced Book Exchange and can be found at http://www.abebooks.com
Use an advanced search using Ballantine Books as the input for publisher and it will provide quite a long list.
Granted, you will have to scan through about 450 books published by Ballantine to weed out the books in question, but Hey it's worth it if you're interested.

Yes, I carry a number of these titles at my bookstore, they are $5.00 each... There are a few that are harder to find, like the jeep, but only had that one once, and it's in my collection! <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0">

Are you referring to the "Ballantines Illustrated History of WW2 softcover books that are about 50% illustrations perhaps?

I have like 60 or more of those things
I never paid more than a dollar for them, but then again thats what they cost when they were being sold.

10 bucks each eh. Sounds like they have become quite colectible.
I LIKE that my life bothers them,
Why should I be the only one bothered by it eh.

Warhorse, Does mean that you have these for sale? If so, do you sell over the internet????

To All Interested,

The Ballantine Book series ended after a run of 152 paperback books. I currently have 148 of them and also have 13 "extras" that I would love to sell to a good home!!! If you are interested, reply to this note or send me an e-mail at usmc0202@hotmail.com and we can talk. I am also interested in finding the missing 4, so if you are a collector, maybe we can trade!!

@ bchapman, yes, and yes!! Well, if you write to my store at; waltbks@attglobal.net, with what titles you need, I will see what we have for you! We used to sell books on the internet, on abe, but took them off, after plummeting interest, with so many people selling on there, we do better out of the store!!
