Ok Guys, this isn't a too serious thread.
What I want to know is. What the hell was the idea behind calling a bazooka a bazooka!!!?

BAZOOKA BUBBLE GUM: It was after the war ended that Topps developed its bubble gum product. Originally offered in a five-cent size, it took its name from the shape of the humorous musical instrument which entertainer Bob Burns had fashioned from two gas pipes and a funnel in the 1930s. (This contraption also gave its name to the armor-piercing weapon developed during the war).

Early on they weren't called that, Gen Robinett, in his book Armor Command calls them "rocket guns", though he also persists in using the word peep for jeep as well.

Fascinating. So, 'jeep' comes from spelling out 'G.P.', short for General Purpose, right?

The original official name for the 'Jeep' was the 'Peep', no idea were it cam from. The original 'Jeep' IIRC was the Dodge 3/4 ton Weapons carrier.
