CHS 1.05 Crash

Post by skrewball »

I am trying to start a PBEM CHS 1.05 game as the Japanese. Everytime I save the game and go back to it, whenever I chose the ship details of an AK, the game crashes. It doesn't matter what ship or where. Does anyone have any insight or have run into this before?

I am running Witp 1.062b. This has happened twice on two different saved games. I have used save slot 10 and 20.

I am using 155, I have the extended map installed. I am not using any custom art. I downloaded CHS 1.04, installed it and then downloaded the 1.05 scenarios.

I still can't help...just thought that you may not have the correct ship art..

You need the CHS art package. Without it the game will crash whenever it tries to load a missing ship art file.

The CHS package, which contains all of the art, can be found at my website (see link in my sig).

THanks for replying. Now, I was able to click on the AKs when I started a new game, but the instant I saved it and tried to go back to it, it didn't work. I downloaded the full CHS_1.04 package and there was art in that file. Is there some other art out there?

-edit- I uninstalled and reinstalled the Mod using the ModInstaller. It worked fine until I saved the game...exited, reloaded and clicked on an AK. It crashed again. Maybe this is a little quirk? Just isolated to my computer? :(

I messed up during installation of CHS once and some bases weren't were they were supposed to be. The only way the truly fixed the problem for me was to delete everything, and reinstall fresh. (i'm sure there was an easier way, but this way I was positive it was installed correctly)

Pain in the butt, I know, but it worked for me.

The package file should have all of the required art. Is it possible for you to try it again? If so, please let us know which ship you are clicking on. Then we can determine what bitmap it is looking for.

Thanks.

I keep clicking on any random AK, there is no pattern. Both sides, any port, PBEM or AI game. WHen I load it fresh and play a game, no problems. When I save the game, quit and reload it will crash when I click on any AK. Man, I hate computers!

Do you mean that sometimes it works for a particular ship, and sometimes it doesn't work for the same ship, and all you do in between is exit the game and start it again? If that is true then it does not appear to be a CHS art issue.
