May 1940 germany invades france

1700 Hours

Our orderes are to set up defenses and hold off any french advance till we are relieved. We have been told to expect them to have some armor but not in any large amounts. Visability is 450 Yards which is great for us. We have been issued the sp sig33 150mm gun. Also 2 of our 37MM atg have been upgraded to the monster 88 ATg. these are great at this yardage.

C Co has been assigned the north flank with B center and A the south flank. Have put a platoon of tanks on each flank as well. Was only issued 20 mines this time these were placed across the only road leading into our area. Have each Platoon of engineers laying mines in front of each company as well. They have almost completed there task by this time. Each company has a platoon of tanks in reserve as a mobile strike force. have pre plotted the area for our big guns. The french will be under a murderous cross fire by the time they even see our defenses. This is going to be a massacre today.

The first French armor showed up at 1710 hours. It is raining with a steady downpower. Even with this our gunners have taken out at least 5 armored cars so far. Well here we go again we are now goin after France. It is a beautiful country where we are at the moment. it wont be in another hour or so. Already our sig 33 150MM have tore huge holes in the ground and trees. Not too mention the torn and smoking french armor. Let me tell you folkes war is hell it is a mess of torn and bleeding human flesh. I hate war but this is my job I dont have to like it but I will still do it to the best of my ability. I am a professional have been ever since the big war to end all wars. Which was a dam lie it seems man will never get enough of war. There will always be war some where in this world as long as men control our destineys.

It is a crying shame that we must come to such a beautiful country and cause so much misery and distruction. Every thing is so green here and beautiful. It brings tears to my eyes to know what I will order to be done here today. There is no doubt in my mind that my men will do what I tell them after all we are the German army. No one will quetion what orders I give them they dont dare. They know any disobedience will be delt with quickly and severely.

The men are rested and in the best fighting shape in there lives. They know there jobs and are prepared to do there best. Bring on the frenchie we have no fear of them today.

France continues to send there men in even tho it is suicide to do this. They are coming up the road in the center. Our sig 150 continue to pound them as they come into sight. the only problem is we will run out of ammo before they are ablle to finish this battle today. they ahve a lot r-35 tanks with them. we have taken out at least 15 tanks so far mostly with the sig 33. Our 37 MM atg dont even dent these monsters.

We are in one heck of a tank battle on our right flank in the north. 1st platoon of company D Consisting of 3 PZ II and 2 PZIv ran into 5 r-35 tanks. We had one PzIv disabled and we managed to take out all 6 of theres. The battle raged for at least 20 minutes before it was over. Trying to get the crew of the disabled tank to recrew there tank but no luck so far. Sent the second platoon of co D over to help them also a platoon from co e as well. They are still finding more tanks comin up on our right flank. Theya re heavier tanks that have been sighted and the 20mm on Pz IIc dont do nothin but bounce off these monsters. Intend to have the tanks move out and try and flank the frenchie forces that are hitting our middle.

Lot of there troops are retreating even as the others try to force our lines. We have the battle in hand and there is no doubt of a great victory here today. Due to the superior equipment we have and the fighting spirit of the german soldier. I dont believe this battle will last much longer then another 45 minutes if that long. They have lost too much armor and men so far to continue in a losing fight.

Will be glad to get some of the new tanks after this fight. The 37mm gun on the Pz III just doesnt seem to hurt the newer tanks. too much armor on them for these pea shooters to do any real damage. have to hit there dam tanks with a rear shot most of the time.

I was right knew it wouldnt last another 45 minutes. The Frenchies are in full retreat. We lost 31 men and one pz IIc tank while we managed to stack up 826 of there bodies and took out 48 of there tanks. Our sig 150s were the best defensr against there tanks today tho. Our puny guns just bounced off or shattered against there armor. The PzIIc will be upgraded to a Stug much more armor and bigger gun too boot.

The 3 platoons of tanks I sent out on our far north flank took out at least 13tankswhile only having one disabled and onePZIIC destroyed. They did an excellent job of getting in behind the enemy that were assualting our lines.The battle was ours from that moment on.

We are to be pulled out of the line and sent back to germany for amonth. While there we are to train in desert warfare. We understand next month we are to head to North Africa for our next campaign. All our tanks are to be repainted with desert camoflauge. We understand the desert is a very hard and deadly place to move around in also the natives will steal anything that isnt nailed down. maybe before we leave for there this awful war will end. Who knows we may never have to leave our beloved Germany again.
