Impressions after two weeks of intensive play...

SPWaW is a tactical squad-level World War II game on single platoon or up to an entire battalion through Europe and the Pacific (1939 to 1945).

Impressions after two weeks of intensive play...

Post by ibalkid »

Maybe a more apt name would be, "Confessions of a SPWAW fiend"

What a brilliant game. I have already had many an all night gaming session. I can not stop. From the scenarios/campaigns to just the random battle generator. wow. The feel and effect of the different enviroments is great, which just adds to the immersive tactical experience. The ease with which you can play SWAW in different ways makes it a game that has some serious staying power. I had fun playing through the Tutorials and a few random battles in the first few days and thought pretty highly of the game, but once i got a good grasp of the game system it was on! I soon realized the game allowed me to think my way out of almost any situation! Unfortunately it also allowed me to fall flat on my face when i made a bad decision. i was hooked!

Some of these scenarios and Campaigns are made with uber amounts of love. Slugging away through all the traps and pitfalls designed by a fellow forumer/gamer, is tops in my book...

The editor is nice and easy to learn. Making a playable scenario is fun and intuitive. learning to get the AI to behave the way i want it too is a lot easier then i thought it would be. I could go on and on.

Its like crack. I can not stop.

Thanks for all the kinds words in regards to me erm... becoming addicted to this great game!

With some great advice from some helpful chaps over at the Depot i can now manipulate the AI, send reinforcements, create objectives, and a few other minor tid bits that will help me make some fun scenarios/campaigns. Always liked making pretty maps/missions in games like this. Where do i ask chaps for help in testing? People think/play differently from each other so i always like to get testing from someone other then myself.

Thanks again!

Ask here or at the Depot. Just post a thread asking for testers, and you're ALMOST guaranteed to pick up a few volunteers.

We have a stable full of Guinea Pigs over at the Depot just itching to test new scenarios!
Post a note there with your scenario file when you're ready for testing.
