CHS version 1.06 now available
CHS (Combined Historical Scenario) version 1.06 is now available for download. The two versions of the scenario, 154 and 155, are available for download from the scenarios page of my WitP website, or directly via these links:
CHS 1.06 scenario 154 (Andrew's standard map)
CHS 1.06 scenario 155 (Andrew's extended map)
There are too many changes in 1.06 to list all of them here. Please see the CHS version document in the scenario packages for details (or the threads on this board).
The package files, which contain all of the art and documentation, have yet to be updated, but these updated scenarios can be played using the previous CHS art, so if you have already installed a CHS package you can just download the updated scenarios. The updated CHS package file should be available soon.
Many thanks to all of the CHS contributors, past and present. As always, please let us know if you find any problem with these scenarios.

Thanks again guys!!! [:)] [&o]
btw- nothing new has been added to the art/maps etc. right?
so essentially if we already have the old package and the new scenario we are set right?
or should we wait for the updated package???

All you need is the new scenario...although I've heard rumors about some guy who chases subs working on something interesting...

As treespider says - no need to wait for the updated CHS package. There is no new art in this CHS update (actually there is - I added the art for USS Ranger, on the chance that she MAY, POSSIBLY, get included in CHS sometime in the future, but that file is not used in CHS 1.06).
In fact the new package is mainly being created so that it will NOT include the scenarios, just the art and the docs. This is so that I don't have to keep updating the CHS package every time the scenario gets updated.

Wonderful job. But one of the proofreaders {me} failed in noticing a minute detail. 79th Chinese Corps is at Hengchow and prepped for Changsha. Easy solution for me is to move the unit to Changsha. Kinda like protecting Changsha anyway. Also the 8th Philippine Air Base Force is static by SC Radar. Was this supposed to be the case?
Noticed a glitch in the base screen. Some of the ship and plane icons were not displaying. I tend to Alt-tab out of the game to write notes and alt-tab back. Alt-tabbing reset the icons to what they should be. Never seen this one before. I just hope it's not a corrupted file.
You've all done a great job. Thank You

They are both supposed to be that way, at least the 79th Chinese corps is...

I'd seen the San Marcelino base force being static before. I just figured it was meant to be. Then it seemed a little odd. The unit is a guarrantee loss when attacked since it cannot retreat. Being on Luzon, it basically is a guarrantee loss anyway. Kinda curious as to the background for making it static.
The 79th Chinese Corp being at one location and prepped for another, and supposed to be that way, is just another indication of the lack of knowledge on my part. It looked a little off, but I really have extremely little info on the Chinese front.
Thanks Again.
Actually the Base Force at San Marcelino will retreat and not die in place. My mistake.

I hate to ask a really dumb question, but since I haven't used this mod before...
After starting the first turn, do I need to apply the WITP 1.60 database changes to the scenario in game? I'm assuming the answer is no since we are playing a nonstock scenario.
Thank you for your patience!

No, you don't need to apply the changes. They should already be built into the scenario.
Not a dumb question at all, by the way...

ROgue is an artist, jeje. [&o] . But to introduce that plane you need a "physic" unit... isn´t it?

Andrew, one more question![;)]
CHS 1.6 should be used with WITP 1.60, or do we also add the 1.62 WITP beta patch?
thanks again... this mod rocks!

The CHS version is independent from the patch level. I recommend that you load the 1.602 beta patch as it fixes a couple of nasty bugs. I'm glad you are enjoying CHS. I am just starting a CHS PBEM game myself...

RE: CHS version 1.06 now available
I've been away from the game . . . and other things . . . since January. I finally have had a chance to load up everything I've been missing -- or, to be preciose, patches 1.4, 1.5, 1.6, Andrew's map, extended map, and the CHS mod package.
WOW!
My thanks to everyone who has been / is working on CHS. And an especial tip of the hat to AK "Alaska" Brown, for the painstakingly beautiful improved maps. [&o]
Oh, and as a Python afficiando I enjoyed the "Moose Credits" on the credits page. Did anyone else pick up on that?

No need to be modest Blackhorse - you helped with the map too...

I was wondering whether anyone would spot that. Thought it would remain obscure considering how many people actually read documentation.

I noticed it, but it went way over my head. I'm a fan, but I guess I haven't seen it all.
The older I get, the better I was.
