Odd computer opponent actions

Post by toddtreadway »

A friend who is learning the game and I teamed up as the allies. I'm WA, he is China/USSR.

A few funny things I noticed.

1) I had invaded France and Italy by Fall of 1940, Italy surrendered in Fall of 1940, and the computer German player sent all units to the East front like it was preparing for an attack on Russia. It left Austria, Yugoslavia, E. France, and Netherlands basically empty. Pretty much ignored the WA presence until those four areas were taken.

2) Computer Germany re-took E.France with one tank, since I'd left it empty. I had a huge force in the Netherlands which was going to easily re-take E.France. Yet the computer still proceeded to spend 60 supply to rebuild the resources, supply, and rail in E. France.

3) The computer doesn't seem to pay much attention to the population pools/levels of areas, and their long term impact on the game. For example, the fact that I am in France doesn't seem to concern the German computer player, even though I am now producing 12 population each turn as the WA. (A bad sign.)
