OT How beautiful your autumn (keep politics out)?

Post by madmickey »

Even though I was not able to cycle through the bottom of the canyon in Fish Creek Park (because of summer flooding destroyed 11 wooden bridges) Calgary was beautiful today. The mountains have snow, the rivers and lakes were blue and the trees were changing colour. The trees are not as colorful as my place of birth, Montreal with its maple tree. I assume most of you have not gone through this year change of season, but do describe what it like in your area?

It was 20 C in Calgary today. We had a cool wet summer, but I like cool weather so except for the floods destroying the bridges I do not mind.

I hate it.
Bring me back the spring/summer, anytime.
(still, photographer in me can't wait for the autumn colorite)
But when the blast of war blows in our ears,
Then imitate the action of the tiger;
Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood,
Disguise fair nature with hard-favour'd rage.

Autumn??? Two days ago it was 90ish here in Middle Tenneessee. The last two days have been mid 80's with yucky rain. Maybe in a week or two I might be able to give a nice answer to the question.

I love this time of year. It's been in the mid 60s (15-20 Celsius) here with clear blue skies and frost in the morning. The trees are starting to turn and drop their leaves. (That's the only bad part, now I have to rake them). Stepping outside in the morning and taking that first breath of cold air is invigorating!

trees are starting to turn in thr high country (aspen gold). i like this time of year, brisk in the morning but still shorts weather by noon for biking or hiking. of course i have spent the last four days outside painting kitchen cabinet doors and drawers but still get a walk in. biggest thing i miss is staying light until 2000ish.

Hey, it's not Autumn for everyone!

Some of us live in the bottom hemisphere. [:)]

Spring is moving on here in S.Africa. The rains started last night; we still don't have power at home (and therefore also no WITP). [:(]

Extremely beautiful here in Finland. Weather is sunny and about 5 degrees of Celcius warmer than normal autumn this time.

I can't wait until my three year old is big enough that I can have him do the yard work. Between the squirrels dropping acorns and the trees losing their leaves it is a full time job keeping my yard clear.

I refuse to rake leaves. I just run them over with the mulching lawn mover.

It's Autumn? I have been playing too much WitP to go outside lately.

As noted......this forum is for discussion of the game. These types of topics belong either in the General Forum or Vinny and Doggie's.
