Game oddities

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

Game oddities

Post by Grand_Armee »

If I see my NML drop, or fail to rise, I periodically go to my economy screen and look through my morale history.

Quite often on the report for one month I'll see something like: Starvation:-7, Luxuries:25, victory in battle:20, Casualties in battle:-3, Taxes:-30, and finally, Plenty of food: 1

How can I have a starvation and plenty of food at one time?

I've gone to the event report and looked for a report of an area short of food...nothing there.

I go to my development screen and it shows: population growth 1 figure.

I can't figure it out.

Here's another oddity:

I build three Prussian fleets. One in Mecklenburg (conquered), and one in Pommerania, and one in West Prussia (both happily Prussian). The one built in Mecklenburg shows a Mecklenburger flag, even though it's now a Prussian state. Once I've put ships in this fleet, I can't remove or transfer them.

I paid for it, I built it, and I filled it in a place I owned. It wasn't like I'd done the Danish fleet or anything.

Starvation in the Morale Report also reports losses for divisions that suffered attrition due to unsuccessful foraging.

I'll look into the Mecklenburger fleet issue. I don't remember a report like this before, but building fleets from conquered minor ports probably isn't done very often.

A fleet built in conquered Mecklenburg should still have a small Mecklenburger flag (and you will lose control of it should you lose control of Mecklenburg) -- but in this situation you should still be able to transfer ships in and out of the fleet.

This is the naval version of a bug I reported here:

By the way, has this been fixed for 1.2? Can the Turks (and others) now build containers in their original starting (albeit conquered minor provinces) and be allowed to attached/detach?

This Mecklenburg has yet to happen to me but I have always been confused as to why some conquered provinces have two flags and others don't, even if they alike belonged to duchies or princedoms in older times. Is it that some of them have been "integrated" into a nation at the start of a scenario wheras others have not yet? If so, may I know which criteria such a province has to meet before being integrated into a nation, with its original flag being there no longer? To take France in the 1805 scenario as an example, its Piedmont and Liguria provinces are still signalled with two flags, one being its old own and the other the French. That is to say, it is not regarded as its home territories in a political sense and can anytime be roused into independence by diplomats with "insurrection" missions. Let's proceed from here. France then goes over to take other such provinces, like ex-Polish ones, into its dominion but the new conquereds do not bear dual flags. Does it mean those provinces have already been integrated and are not subject to any diplomatic influence into independence?
