Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

Never before heard of this game.

I see it’s a strategic game. And I see its a Gary Grisby game and seems to have some things in common with Uncommon Valour

I reckon it would be a good game.

Suggestions:

The scenario lengths need to be playable.

The interface needs to be very user – friendly

We all have much improved graphics cards since 1999, so the graphics need a touch up else our screens will be covered in pixels

Information screens are the be all and end all. Those in Uncommon Valour are good but in some cases a few extra columns would be very useful.

Hope it’s available for digital download.

Both BoB & BTR have similar-ish interfaces to UV/WitP. I believe that it is basically the same codebase.

The graphics don't really need updating, none of these types of games uses 3D or anything. Maybe higher resolutions ...

What's funny is one time I fires up WitP after playing a few rounds of BTR and the icons for BTR showed up in place of the ones for WitP.

A quick reboot fixed it but it was something interesting to see. I think Cruft is right and there is a lot of BTR that is in UV and WitP.

LOL
most of Gary G's games used the same or updated data

go back to West Front,East Front, PacWar, WIR, the data base is pretty much the same

ahhhh, I hope they are able to pull in some of the work JC was doing, he did a lot with the maps

all the reseach and detail he put into his OOBs, it would be a shame to start over again

BUT, we need new plane images !!!!!

I stink at it, and I even went in and made some changes (soem of the work them guys were doing for UV and WitP could make this look like a champ)

Werner

I stick with boxes because of the info the graphic provides on raid size

Yes the number of additions to the map that JC added was IMMENSE.

I find it hard to remember now what the stock map was like.

The artwork makes me chuckle a little Sarge. Check out the 210 is it? Sweap thats a 410 [;)]

there are still some errors in it, but we can say that the range of targets between stock 1943 scenario and the newest OB/OA is around 300% total ( many are later arriving sites )

Hi Guys,

Just thought I'd post to register my interest in BTR and to hope something comes of Matrix's taking over Talonsoft's rights. Hopefully all of JC's hard work will be rewarded.

Just for kicks I ran a turn this morning, end of turn, was shocked to see

Cpt H S Lorence has 4 kills, means he got a double today !!!!
