Naval Artillery and Planes

Post by Whitestreak »

I just started playing the Omaha Beach scenario, and I'm having some trouble firing one of the units.

It is Unit M0, 14" Naval Guns. It is not available for offboard artillery fire, it cannot target anything and I cannot use indirect fire with it. Is there something I need to do to use this unit? (Could really use some covering fire against some WN bunkers.)

Also, in another scenario, I have not been able to get Waco gliders with reinforcements to appear.

And, a third question: I sometimes find that I have aircraft listed on the Off-board artillery dialog that I cannot target anywhere, even though an unit check shows they have weapons and ordnance.

Thanks for any help I can get.

Third question:

If your aircraft (strike element) have any damage points they will not reappear.
They struggled with a ferocity that was to be expected of brave men fighting with forlorn hope against an enemy who had the advantage of position......knowing that courage was the one thing that would save them.

On the reinforecement issue - I've never been able to get anything but ground units, OB artillery and air effectively with the Reinforcement option.

I believe that any unit that requires set-up during the Deployment phase (ie level bombers, para/glider drops, infiltrating spec ops) cannot be used as called reinforcements, at least not in their intended capacity.
The spec ops will come in, but as non-infiltrating ground infantry.
