Opponential Integrity

Post by mdh1204 »

What prevents a player engaged in PBEM from using Autosave in order to play their turn over and over again, and until they are satisfied with it? I only ask because I have never played PBEM due to this particular concern. If there is a safeguard, then I would be interested in a 1 vs 1 or 2 vs 2 or whatever combination thereof, as long as I am Germany and or Axis.
I have been kicked out of the Matrix Games forums because I can not control my mouth and at times act like a complete ass.

every time the file is opened the game records the file characteristics (somehow?) and its marked as being opened. if the game isn't saved over correctly than it'll keep incrementing. so even if they did 'autosaves' or re-downloaded the file, it would still show the previous loading.

of course there could be two instances of the game installed and there wouldn't be anyway to stop them from playing the turn twice then. therefore you usually end up playing people you know you can trust.

in the end, I view it simply as a game and it doesn't bug me too much if they do a reload now and then.

Well... that also brings up the point of germany editting their stats before starting the game and then playing with fog of war. You just have to trust the player and try to see if the game is going the way it should.
