So What Kind Of Computer Setup?

Post by Hill_621 »

It is been a few years since I played the original games (loved them)... With todays computers, what do I really need? What kind of RAM.... display etc??? I would go ahead and get a big monitor for this game if the graphics were up to the task. ( I always ended up playing this game on a small monitor at the time )... So what does everyone here recommend for a hot computer setup to run this game?

The graphics are fine on a 19" monitor. I think the extra computers in the game room are pentioum 1's and they run it just fine I paid $50.00 for one of them 3 years ago so that gives you an idea.

I'd be surprised if anything "off the shelf" couldn't handle these games with ease - they are pretty ancient in gaming terms after all. That said, a decent sized monitor will make everything you do with your computer more pleasant, from games to word-processing.

You might want to consider what else you might end up installing on it. Most wargames don't need anything too flash (there are exceptions - Point of Attack 2 does so much math a fast processor is a really good idea, for example) but many wargamers also enjoy flight simulations, submarine simulations, etc, which can be a lot more demanding.
