0300 Hours

We are to advance against the French at Dunkirk today. We will jump off at 0300 hours this morning. The weather is clear vis will be 350 yards due to the darkness. A & B have been givin the task of taking and securing the north 2 objectives while C will secure the southern one. The two in the north sit in front of a small hill and are quite close to no mans land. Maybe 100 yards and they will be upon them. Due to the low vis I have put my tanks right up in the front line with the troops.

The X grenadiers whipped the french bad at Reims yesterday we have heard. They went right after them and never stopped till they had taken out most of there force. I hope we have the same success today. The only differene will be we will be right on top of them not firing at the distances they had. There are two hills right behind the northern objectives. I figure they wil come over the top of them in force.

We are up for this and the men are all at the peak of there training so should be more of a cake walk then a slug fest. The tanks are firing up and the men are begining to get some hot coffee in them we will be hearing the 150 start to fire within the next five minutes im sure.

Company C in the south will have the longest distance to move close to 400 yards before they reach there objectives so will start them five minutes sooner then the other two Companys. There goes the command for C to move out and there is the first big bangs from our 150 artty in support of this battle. This battle is on may all go well for us today.

0315 Hours

A & B have already taken the two forward objectives. Only had 200 yards to travel across fairly open ground. Have not met any real resistence so far. No loss of life or equipment. Havent really been fired on. Couple of panhards appeared out of the darkness and were quickly delt with.

C company in the south have not reached there objective as yet. It sits in a small forest so a little slower goining there. They have taken out at least 3 panhards on there right flank with some help from B company. Couple of shots where fired from two French squads to no effect. They were soon routed with fire from our sig 33 guns.

Have been laying down a heavy barrage on the two hills behind the two northern objective I believe this has slowed the Frenchies down some what. Put some 50mm Mortar fire down on couple of the french squads this also slowed them down somewhat. Really have not seen much of the enemy so far. Sure this will soon change as we try to take the two hills and begin our move to the rear. There is two more objectives at least 1000 yards to the rear of these hills high commnad wants us to take and secure today.

At least there artty has been quite so far. This at least has been a pleasant surprise to us. This battle is not over by along site but at least we have lost no one so far and that is always a welcome event.

0340 Hours

Only 40 minutes into the battle so far and we have taken all 3 forward objectives. Two companys to the north have now begun to climb the two hills behind there targets. C in the north ran into 3 charbiz as they came over the hill. Lost a PZ IIIe to there fire. A brave Engineer squad took out one of the monsters. The 37MM were just bouncing off the giants brought two SIg 33 150s up took out the other two.

We are pushing the French back 50 yards at a time they are putting up stiff resistence right now. WE have taken out at least 30 tanks of theres. A in the south is pushing thru dense woods this makes it slow goin for them. Have lost some men at least 50 I would say. We are using the 50 MM mortars to our advantage this time. They are bombarding the enemy just in front of our lines before we move up. Have kept the mortars up with our lines this time. Dont like to use them any further away then 250 yards seems to keep them in an effective range this. They are causing heavy surppression on the enemy this way. Then when we move up there is no fire from the French coming our way and we get the first shot off. This way our losses are cut to a minimum and theres are maximized.

A in the south are moving well thru the woods. have not ran into too many French in the woods but this slows them down but have still managed to keep the line fairly straight. Not too much in the way of enemy troops this far south except on there right flank. But B has managed to help them on that flank. Have taken out at least 7 tanks on there right flank with the help from B. Still have at least 800 yards to get to the rear objectives. If the next 40 minutes go as well as the first we will be very near to finishing this battle by then. Just as the XV Grenadiers did yesterday at Reims we will be just as successful here today. I believe the war is over for the French and France will be ours after today. Soon we will be marching under the Arch in Paris in triumph.

0425 Hours

The battle has ended in 1 hour 25 minutes of intense fighting. Due to the superior fighting abbility of the german army the Frnch have been beatin badly. They are completly routed and in full retreat.
Our losses were slight only 81 men went down today and just one tank was lost. We decimated there troops killing 2082 also took out 17 artty along with 56 tanks and 4 apcs. All in all it was a lopsided battle to say the least. Our superior firepower took the day. Several of there big char biz were taken out by our engineer squads in frontal assaults. Our sig 33 150s took a heavy toll on the French today. They didnt have to see them to hit them and this was a man killer today. The only thing is they dont have a very big ammo magazine on them.

Our off board 150 took hundreds of lives as well they were right on target all day. Laying down a massive barrage on enemy positions as well. They also did some counter battery fire on the enemys 105 positions which slowed there bombardment of our troops a lot. Loss of life and equipment to enemy artty was at a minimum.

All in all our men performed well today and i am proud to be there leader. We are to entrain and move back into Berlin for some more training in prep for what I am sure will be the invasion of Russia some time next year. I will really hate to see this happening as far as I am concerned there is nothing in Russia worth the loss of life I am sure will follow our invasion. But I am a soldier and will follow my orders to the death if need be.
