Is WPO more fun than WitP?

If you were going to purchase one of the games (WPO or WitP) which one do you think you would purchase if you have played both? Granted the game just came out. But what is your first impressions compared to WitP?

Actually, I am in the same position. I was getting ready to order WitP, but now I am thinking that WPO might a better first choice (I am waffling on WitP because of some of the lengthy discussions on it's forum concerning balance, etc.)

I got both on day 1 [8D]. Never had to regret on WITP. Almost sure the same will be with WPO.

Can't comment a lot on WPO after 2 turns, but it looks really promising and different than WITP. Just suspect it will be a little bit easier to manage than WITP, since there is no hordes of air units [:)] . From other side, I suspect it will be hard to get rid of WITP habits...

My thinking for not getting WitP was that US could win the game against the AI since it would produce better war machines later on in the war. So, if you played a decent game against Japan you would or could still win becuase US would end-up getting better equipment. Is my thinking correct? This is one reason that I got turned off from the game.

However, with WPO the playing fields seem to be more even since a lot of technological advancement had not been made so the game will be better challange versus WitP. If the playing fields are even like chess, than it really comes down to the best strategy versus equipment. This is what I meant by more fun. Would this be the correct thinking with WPO?

What do you think for those that are playing both or know more about the history?

As a loyal customer who bought UV and WitP on the first day they were available, I'll be waiting for information about how I can get my rebate...
