Actually i received them for turn 1 unzipped and they worked fine. But when I sent them to Azog unzipped they didn't work and I had to resend them zipped. So I don't know what the heck is going on with that.

As I have a yahoo email, it has the feature to open some files so you can see it directly with the email, such as pictures and so. It seems that yahoo thinks it is a .txt file and open it, and when I try to download it, I have problems. I then forwar the email to another account, where I have no problems, but the last time the file wasnt whole, donow why, you can torture me.

OK that did not quite format right. But it's like this: Goods on left, we want; goods on right, we trade away.

the sultan would like to thank all that trade with the turks, and would like to personally thank france for the fine wine that made it to his tent.[&o]

Next turn sent to Britain.

Attention nations of Europe.
France offered Austria a cease fire 2 months ago. Austria's repsonse has been to try and turn other nations against France. As I send this communication to you all, Britain and Austria plot against France.

France calls upon her allies to join together to defeat the aggressive alliance of Austria and Britain.

French troops have not moved aggressively against Austria or Britain and thus their aggression is unwarranted. The courageous French navy did defend territorial waters in the English Channel against raiding Austrian naval vessels.

The haughty English must be kept from expanding their imperialistic empire across the continent. Austria has chosen allies unwisely. Beware Austria with whom you lay down.[:-]

By the way, the French State Department would like to clarify that only the wine was sent to the Sultan's tent. No French nationals accompanied the wine to the Sultan's tent.[;)]

Thank you

As for Britain, I have to say that Pit got intelligence of an inminent attack (in 45 minutes) with terrible weapons from France. We now call "Fish and chips" the traditional "Fish and french fries" in order to lower the french morale. We also wave our middle finger in your general direction [;)] (I hope you have seen the movie "The knights of the square table"... is it so? I have seen the movie in german...)

It's true. French cannons are being prepared to be loaded with cows to be hurled across the channel on unsuspecting English peasants. [:D]

With the new beta out do we all need to download it for us to be able to do pbem? I;m still using 1.214. If some are using 1.216 and some 1.214 will the game still run correctly? I would like to download new beta, but I don't want to mess up our game.

Interesting how translation works, Azog.

I think the movie you're referring to is "Monty Python and the Holy Grail", and in English I believe it says, "I fart in your general direction."

And Francis, Emperor of Austria and Holy Roman Emperor has decreed that, henceforth, all loyal Austrians will turn their posteriors in a general westward direction when releasing wind.

Yeah I'm wondering about the current beta question too. Even if we all convert to .16, will our .14 PBEM files even work?

With the 1.2 patch scheduled for next week, perhaps it's best if we just scrap the current PBEM game so we can individually test out 1.2.16 this weekend, and then restart after the final 1.2 patch is released.

If we restart, one idea I've been playing around with in my head is figuring out what timezone each player is in, and then assigning the nations going westward around the world. This would increase the probability of multiple players doing their turns on weekday evenings.

What do the rest of you think about these two proposals? Please post your responses here.

It's fine with me Kevan to implement your ideas. Although I must say how disappointed I'll be to not see the effect on national morale of France being given the finger by England and the recipient of pollution from Austria. Maybe Eric should consider such modifiers for future builds.

Seriously though, is the stance of human countries in pbem still determined by diplomats or can we manually set our stance. I thought I read that we could mannually set it, but I can;t find it. It is probably best that we are waiting for the patch, as I keep finding my diplomats with different orders than I gave them.

this game was suspended awaiting the new patch. the official patch has not yet ben released and we are playing with beta patches. as far as I know, no english pbem games are going on. i could be wrong, but haven't heard about any. I am willing to play one using the beta patch if we have enough players.
