IIRC, three years ago I was actively waiting for my copy of Ariborne Assault : Red Devils Over Arnhem to turn out in my mail box.
I said actively because it is at that time that I began to write the bases of what would become, some weeks later, the First Airborne Assault Fansite.

Today, to celebrate this anniversary, I decided to create a French version of it.

And you Panther Guys, do you know what you can do to make the celebration more complete ? [;)]

Let me guess :

1) They could tell you you still need to translate the "Credits" section on your site into French :)
2) They could officially crown you their #1 fan :)
3) Finish COTA this year ?

Hey the last time I studied French ( and had cause to use it ) was back at school ( 1970 IIRC ). That's probably before you were born Eddy. So I reckon I should be cut a little slack there. This one is not even getting a point towards winning that beer mate. [;)]

All the more time you had to master it I'd say [;)]

I guess I could, given your advanced age and senior citizen status. [;)]

Folks, you should know that Sterckx speaks, writes AND CAN SPELL in about thirteen modern and five classic languages. His brain is going to be pickled and studied when he dies. Although I suspect it's a bit pickled already from Belgian Beer. [:'(]

This was intended to see if people would read that far...
On the other hand : I'm lazy. [;)]

Would be nice, but not deserved.

As alcohol kills braincells, it kills the weak and the sick ones. Darwin would call it "natural selection". On average, you then become smarter. That explains why you are more performant at University. And that explain a lot about Eddy. [:'(]

Ha, "they" - the sinister PG forces, secret rulers of the world, the guys the Cthulhu guys answer to - are just biding their time. One of these days you'll have downed a couple of La Chouffe's and a stranger in a trenchcoat will walk right up to you and say "Hey, psst, buddy, could I intrest you in a free wargame ?" and you'll say "sure, c'est quoi ?" and before you know it you'll have signed the Non-Disclosure Agreement, not with your blood mind you, but with Shiraz.

Then they introduce you into this strange unreal world : the Beta Zone, where the rules of time(zones) and logic don't apply. You'll learn about the rituals of the Bug and the DeBug and the arcane secrets of this most UnHoly (dis)Order. For instance : why they make you sign with Shiraz. And the True Meaning of the hidden messages of course. If you think the Da Vinci Code contained a few, wait until you come across some scenario names. or map locations. You don't think there's really a Lunatic Asylum on that spot in Malta, do you ?

I could go on, but I know that I'm being watched, so I'll leave it for another time

Greetz,

Eddy Sterckx

Eddy I think I can disclose (because THIS wasn't in the NDA) that The GrandMaster Himself and Santa may be the same person.
You surely have noticed the same sunny disposition, the showering of presents, the goodwill to all men and ... very possibly, His Happy Band of Helpers, vis: you and some other guys. All that's missing are the reindeer.
However, as I clearly am The OldDear, my wise word of warning is that you should not have disclosed The Secrets of The Shiraz. You would normally be thrown out of The Beta Bunnies Guild for that but as that is your dearest wish ... you shall not be, but be warned!

.. the beard (dead giveaway that one), the elves having to work all day & night while he sits by the fire reading "reports" ...

And then that nickname "Arjuna" - why, everyone must immediatly spot that that's just an anagram for JARAUN (Just Another Ridiculous Anonymous Universal Nickname)

<cringe> oh, that's just an awfull pun - though you're pulling the cart and too much alcohol will give you a red nose .... hm, maybe not such a bad one after all [;)]
