Is this a bug or game feature?

Post by Mike Carroll »

In some fierce fighting off Lingayen my combat reports show that I sank a Japanese light cruiser and 4 destroyers. But only 2 Destroyers were shown as sinking during the replay and they are the only ones shown as sunk on the intel screen. But in my combat reports it shows the light cruiser and 4 destroyers being sunk. Will they eventually show up on the intel reports. I know there is a delay of up to 60 days with Fog of War.

Love this game.

Thanks for the question. It is a feature, even though you saw it sink, it can still take the entire 60 days to show up. It is to help show the true no way of knowing, plus the fact ships are often reported as sunk, when they really weren't.

And glad you love the game!

Tankerace, so you're saying that even though you see a ship sink in battle, it may not have sunk? Does this also apply to WitP?

No no no, if you saw it sink then it is sunk. BUT, to represent FOW and false reports, it may take 60 days to be "officially" credited as sunk. If it is sunk it is sunk, it just may not be credited until later.
