Unit Database Questions

So... I've only really played the late campaign, I havent played the early one. I'm getting ready to start a PBEM game of the late campaign as well. Anyone want to help me out on what I can expect as I get later in the war? Or even now for that matter.

What are the BB/CA to look out for? What ships have all the muscle? Looking at some AAR's some of the Jap ships have some weak armor. What are their strongest forces?

I also havent seen a whole lot of range out of the air units. I havent even gotten late enough in the war for them to make a difference anyhow, so most are either training or scouting. What planes have decent range? Armament?

I'm not very familiar with this time period, so maybe someone can help me out. That's one reason I havent even touched the 1922 campaign. Although I am sure I will at some point.
