Videos are kind of grainy...off B/W ???

Post by [RS]Wedge »

The videos just dont look right to me. They are not of the best quality. I know that they are old B/W films, but they are grainy and the black and white seems off.

I have done the following to try and correct this problem:

-tried updating my Windows Media Player. It is updated to the latest version which is 10.

Below are my specs:
Windows XP Pro
6800 GT 256 MB Video Card
2 GB Ram
3000+ AMD Processor

Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Do the videos look the same in game as they do if you play them outside the game? They are sort of grainy - old newsreel quality like.

The videos look grainy in game [&:], but look just fine when I play them outside of game.

In that case I do not know what the reason might be. Hopefully someone from 2by3 or MatrixGames can figure it out.

they are cleaner when viewed directly.
my guess is they use an effects plugin to produce the old film style used in the game.
easy done if they are using the mediaplayer SDK

I can tell a definite difference in the video. I loaded WaW on my work PC which only has an ATI 7500 64 MB Card and the in game videos look just fine.

They also look the same to me in and out of game on a 5600 Nvidia card - most peculiar.

Not that I tend to view them often - personally I turned them off after seeing them once or twice. I also turned off the intro movies that start when you load the game by renaming the files. Just a small trick if you prefer to skip those logo/intros.

I just want the game to perform at the highest quality. I would like the videos to work properly so I can enjoy them for a few games and then I will decide to keep them turned on or to turn them off. I know it is a small deal, but it bugs me to no end that I cant get these to work properly on the main PC that I will be playing the game on. [&:]
