Some aesthetic suggestions

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

Some aesthetic suggestions

Post by Adam Parker »

Eric here are some aesthetic suggestions that may add some polish to the first impressions of the game. Maybe Marc S has a solution?

1. The "maxim" quotes on the loading screen look very pixelated reminding me of DOS days! Maybe change their font or anti-aliase them in some manner. The seemingly smaller resolution which the game changes to on starting impacts this on my 19 inch screen.

2. The transitioning art on the loading screen (the ovular pictures that zoom in and out) are great but a bit jerky. I'm running the very latest graphics drivers so may just be the animation that needs tweaking.

3. The text in the main menu screen where the game type etc is selected is vertically off centre in their black boxes (ie: dropped slightly).

4. Maybe change "local game" to "single player" and "all local" to just "hotseat" to make these game types more intuitive to find. That did throw me at the start.

Nothing deal breaking here but if you have the time, may add some shine that all goes toward making dollars!

BTW did you locate that file with the original maps colors? If not the missing coloring with the new scheme along many provincial borders does need to be finished up.

Cheers,
Adam.
